Email Setup Procedure

GENERAL SETTINGS:

The POP and SMTP details are as follows;
POP3 ---- mail.beyondsl.net
SMTP -- mail.beyondsl.net
WEBMAIL:
Beyondsl emails can be viewed via webmail using a browser.
Email client Setup documents; ( Other email can also be configured.)

Visit http://www.beyondsl.net/webmail to view your emails online.

EMAIL CLIENT SETUP

1. Outlook Express Setup document.

2. Microsoft Outlook Setup document.

For non-beyondsl emails ensure the smtp settings is pointing to beyondsl.net. A username and password is required to authenticate outgoing emails.

NB: The SMTP server should be set to authenticate aoutgoing emails using the beyondsl.net email provided. Please contact us to get one setup.

Which Wirelesss Router Works?

A Cable /DSL wireless router will work with Astra2connect modem. This has an Ethernet WAN interface. An ADSL modem WILL NOT work. We have successfully tested modems from DLINK, Netgear, Belkin and Cisco. This list is not exhaustive.

Settings:

Wireless is DISABLED by default on most Routers. Please connect via wired connection to setup wireless following instructions issued by manufacturer.

The WAN interface should be set to obtain IP address automatically from the Astra2Connect modem.

The LAN interface has an IP address range that is similar to 192.168.x.x depending on make. Your PC should obtain IP address automatically.

Remember to secure your wireless by Seting up a passphrase or password. DO NOT LEAVE IT OPEN TO ABUSE.
