The Star Blazer unit provides fast 2-way satellite Internet connectivity suitable for the single user or small groups of users.

State of the art broadband technology makes Star Blazer the most economical 2-way satellite Internet service available today. With up to 256Kb upload and up to 1024kbps download capabilities Star Blazer is nearly 20 times faster than a standard modem.

24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no time related charges means you avoid tedious logging on and off delays, benefit from real time email and use the Internet for business or play whenever you like.

Utilising the latest technology Star Blazer provides incredible reliability, better than 99.9%. No need to worry about dropped connections during critical transactions or missed emails.

Connection
Star Blazer provides an Ethernet connection to your computer, so is therefore compatible with all operating systems and can be used with a router, hub, switch or wireless access point.
Coverage
The service is available from one of two satellites depending on your location and system operator advice. The Eurobird 1 satellite is operated by Eutelsat at the 28.5°E position and the Hellas Sat 2 satellite is operated by Hellas Sat at 39°E.
Service Packages
Service packages are available in three levels depending on the desired speed inbound (download) and outbound (upload), data downloaded/uploaded and max number of simultaneous users. Service is payable quarterly in advance.

Mail Server
We do not supply inbound POP3 mail addresses. There is an smtp outbound mail server in case you are unable to setup your mail client to log on to your existing smtp mail server.
IP Addresses
The standard service comes with a single IP address and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.252
A multiple IP option is available at a one-off setup charge of £260 / €375. This gives 5 IP addresses: 1 for the satmodem and 4 for your other internet devices. The subnet mask is 255.255.255.248
You can order the multiple IP option at the time of ordering or upgrade later.
Quality of Service / Fair Use Policy
Satellite broadband is not a direct equivalent of terrestrial ADSL for a number of technical reasons including latency. We operate a fair use policy on bandwidth usage to protect normal users from system abuse by excessive or illegal or unacceptable use. Acceptance is a condition of service.

If you have reached the maximum throttle (token speed) in any 30 day rolling period, you can buy volume credits at £40 / €60 for 1GB download and 250MB upload.
Prices
All prices ex VAT. A non-returnable deposit of £200 / €300 is payable with all orders placed. Equipment and installation costs due prior to installation. Subscriptions payable quarterly in advance. Initial payment due the day prior to installation so that it is active on the day of installation.

There is no annual contract. You are purchasing the equipment outright. You may cancel the service simply by cancelling your next payment and the service will cease when the remaining subscription period expires. Unexpired subscription is not refundable.
Warranty & Support
Equipment and Installation warranty for 1 year from the date of installation. Your statutory rights are not affected. Support is via email and office hours phone line. Details supplied in user documentation.
VOIP
A VOIP service compatible with the satellite connection is also available. Please email info@beyondsl.net for details. Equipment, Line Rental and Call Charges apply.
