Opensky SatSurf

Satellite Broadband Internet

Opensky connects you to the satellite "backbone in the sky". Subscribers share the high-speed data channels to get a download and browsing experience like ADSL - or even faster! Wherever you are, if you can "see" the satellite, you can add broadband to your internet access.

  • Adds Broadband to your existing terrestrial internet access.
  • Dial-up and Login to your existing internet access as normal
  • SatSurf Login to Opensky
  • Browse and download as normal
  • Opensky proxy servers forward data requests onto Internet
  • Proxies receive responses and forward to user via broadband satellite

To turbocharge your existing access method with SatSurf, you must be online in your usual way in order to access our high-speed satellite bandwidth. However, you do not have to be online to receive and watch the video streams (SatTV) or to receive and store the web content we broadcast (SatKiosk).

The Opensky Client automates proxy setting for Internet Explorer but you will need to set proxies for other applications you want to use.

Alternatively, the new technology of OSDA (Opensky Direct Access) opens a VPN tunnel from you to the internet and does not require proxy settings.

You can use whichever method you find most convenient to setup and use. A comparison is here.
