Manual Proxy Settings

You can choose to set proxies manually (for example, perhaps you are using the manual login method). Here is the method for Internet Explorer. Similar principles apply for other applications. More information can be found in the following documents from the download page.

First Use

You only need to enter the proxies once. After that you can turn them on and off simply by ticking or unticking the "Use a proxy server..." box.

  1. In Internet Explorer, click on Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click the Dial-up connection you are using to highlight it (make certain to choose the dial-up connection you are using with Opensky).
  3. Click on Settings.
  1. Tick the "Use a proxy server..." and "Bypass proxy server..." boxes.
  2. Type in the proxy address and port for your satellite. These are different for different satellites so make sure you choose the right ones. A list is here.
  3. It doesn't matter if you use the full IP number address or the DNS name.
  4. Click on "Advanced"
  1. Untick the "Use the same proxy server..." box.
  2. Type in the Socks proxy address and port.
  3. Enter sdr.eutelsat.net in the "Exceptions" box.
  4. Click on "OK"

Set/Unset Proxies

After you have logged out of the Opensky page, you should untick the "Use a proxy server..." box to return your IE to normal.

Next time you manually login, just tick this box and you should find your proxy settings are remembered from the last session.

Use over a LAN

If you are using Opensky over a LAN, you can set the proxies on the second computer by clicking on the "LAN Settings" button.
