Opensky Transponder Change

On the 24th of June 2008, Opensky changed the frequencies and parameters for A3 and C5 Transponders on W3A at 7 deg East. We apologise for the short notice. This is a service move dictated without notice by the satellite operator, Eutelsat, and is completely outside our control. You may think this is a funny way to run an international satellite operator and we agree. We apologise again.

If you know where we might get hold of an ambidextrous multi-lingual coccyx locator which works under restricted visibility conditions, we would be very glad to hear details so we can forward them to our service provider..

What to Do

BSM2 / F10 Users need to change Advanced Satellite Settings

  1. Frequency from either 10762000 or 11299000 or 11299250 to 11303000
  2. if your Symbol Rate is 13500, change it 27500. If it is already 27500, leave it at 27500
  3. Polarisation is unchanged at Horizontal

Here is a picture (click for full size) of the correct settings checked and working with an 80cm dish and LNB from London.

The below footprint indicates the UK is covered by the 48dBw contour which should be receivable on an 80cm.

If you or your installer are having problems either with dish size or with dish alignment, please visit this page. We believe we now know why some dishes which seem to be correctly aligned on W3A on 7 degrees East don't give you good reception and some do.

If you require additional help, please email support@beyondsl.net or you can call the helpline.

We apologise for this inconvenience which was completely out of our control.
