Opensky Satellite Position ChangeOn the 30th of April 2008, Opensky moved service from Eurobird at 33 deg East to W3A at 7 deg East. Customers already on W3A are unaffected. We apologise for the short notice. This is a service move dictated at short notice by the satellite operator, Eutelsat, and is completely outside our control. What to Do?If you are a customer on 33 degrees East, you will need to repoint your dish and also change your settings. Customers on 7 degrees East are not affected. Until you have changed your Advanced Satellite Settings and repointed your dish, the satellite service will not be available. So you will need to temporarily disable your satellite access and reset your outgoing mailserver until your dish has been repointed. This means that you will need to: 1) Go to Satellite Settings, UNtick the Enable VPN Tick box and click Commit Changes. You are now connecting via your dial-up only. 2) If you use an email program, change the outgoing email server from mail.opensky.net to your ISP mailserver details 3) Change your Advanced Satellite Settings 4) Re point your dish from 33E to 7E 5) Go to Satellite Settings, TICK the Enable VPN box to re-enable your satellite connection and Commit Changes 6) Reset your outgoing email server (if necessary) to mail.opensky.net If you require additional help, please email support@beyondsl.net or you call the helpline. We apologise for this inconvenience which was completely out of our control. Using Manual TuningYou need to repoint your dish and retune your receive device with the following parameters:
Please see your device documentation for details. Using any method on 7 deg EastThere is no change to the service on W3A at 7 degrees East. Problems? |
