Fair Usage Policy

PDFPrintE-mail

As with all internet services, there are download and speed limits. This protects the user experience of most ordinary users from congestion caused by very heavy users dominating the bandwidth. Please see the top table to view the speeds (before congestion) depending on Data usage. When the Congestion Factor (CF) exceeds 1, typically during peak hours, all speeds will be reduced to share the overall bandwidth as fairtly as possible across all users. Peak hours (see bottom table) are usually 5pm - 10pm weekdays and 10am - 10pm weekends. Heavy internet congestion due to eg, large software updates, can also cause congestion and slower overall speeds.
