OSDA Mail Server

When you use OSDA, you are connected to a VPN via the Opensky Direct Access servers. This has the advantage that you do not have to set and reset proxies for browsing or other applications. Also, you do not have to change your mail settings as you do when you use Opensky without proxies - i.e. via the SatSurf part of the Opensky client.

However, your ISP will probably refuse to accept email requests from your email client - because you are trying to access it via the OSDA VPN instead of your ISP's own network.

If this happens, you can use the OSDA mailserver at mail.opensky.net

  • Simply replace your outgoing smtp mail server with mail.opensky.net

You keep your normal ISP inbound mail server details. This is the other way round if you are using Opensky via proxies.

  Terrestrial Opensky Proxies OSDA
Inbound mail your ISP mailserver Opensky proxy using special format mail login your ISP mailserver
Outbound mail your ISP mail server your ISP mail server mail.opensky.net

If you would like to know more, consult the OSDA documentation on the BeyonDSL CD (v10 and higher) or here.
