Transponder Change

Affects Customers on W3A C5(C12) - 24 July 2008

On 24 July 2008, Eutelsat changed the transponder used for the Opensky service from C5(C12) to A12. You will need to change your parameters. There are three methods depending on which way you use the service: Opensky Client or Manual or F10/BSM2

1. If you use the Opensky Client, you will lose service when Eutelsat completes the changeover. At this time, please run OSWizard to re-register and the system will automatically update the correct settings.

2. If you tune your receiver manually, please use the following new parameters:

  1. disconnect from the Opensky service (you can't make changes while connected)
  2. reconnect using dial-up ONLY
  3. login to your Customer Portal.
  4. change your Current Service (in the My Service Details section) to W3A at 7E Transponder A3 (drop down menu)
  5. click Save Changes.
  6. wait for the green success message at the top.
  7. now you can change your parameters on your device and reconnect using:
  • Frequency: 10.92825 GHz (was 11.303 GHz)
  • Polarity: Vertical (was Horizontal)
  • Symbol Rate: unchanged at 27.5 MSym/s
  • FEC: unchanged at 3/4

3. If you use the F10/BSM2, you will need to disconnect, untick Enable VPN, reconnect using dial up only, make the changes on your Customer Portal, change your F10/BSM2 Advanced Settings and then tick the Enable VPN box again before reconnecting.

  1. disconnect from the Opensky service (you can't make changes while connected).
  2. go to Settings Page on your F10/BSM2 and Untick the Enable VPN box. Click Commit Changes
  3. now return to the Start Page and click Connect. This will connect you via your terrestrial dial-up only.
  4. login to your Customer Portal (same link as the Customer Portal in the Sales menu on the left of this page)
  5. change your Current Service (in the My Service Details section) to W3A at 7E Transponder A3 (drop down menu) and Save Changes.
  6. wait for the green success message at the top. Now you can change your parameters on your device:
  7. go to the Advanced Settings page
  8. change Frequency from 11303000 to 10928250
  9. change Polarity from Horizontal to Vertical
  10. click Commit Changes
  11. check you are getting full Red / Yellow / Green signal bars on the Start Page (the box may need a reboot - unplug or turn off power, wait 20 secs or so, turn on again, wait for flashing light to stay lit constantly)
  12. click Disconnect
  13. go to Settings Page
  14. tick Enable VPN box
  15. click Commit Changes
  16. now you can reconnect via the Connect button n the Start Page
