Internet AccessFlat-rate monthly dial-upThese are not as common as they used to be but they are still available. Two suppliers who have confirmed (Jan 2008) they are still providing flat-rate dial-up are: Cymru1.net - based in Porthmadog, Wales. Click here for dial-up details. Freeola - well known "free" ISP who also provides dial-up: click here for details. We beileve Virgin offers a flat-rate dial-up for those with Virgin phone lines but if you're with Virgin, you can probably also get cable broadband. AOL also still do a flat rate monthly-dial up but we know some customers have problems in configuring their AOL access to work through the Opensky proxy client. It's probably OK for VPN use through the BSM2/F10 receiver but since AOL wouldn't give us a test account, we haven't tested it! We'd be happy to feature other flat-rate dial-up providers - just us with your details.
0845 Pay-as-you-go dial-up (PSTN or ISDN)Ideal no subscription, no fuss internet access account. It's "free" - your only charges are your local call rate calls as appear on your telephone bill.
No sign up, no limits, no timeout - just dial and surf! We recommend you only use this for light use or testing as local call charges can soon mount up. If you want to stay on line for more than a few hours a week, you'll probably be better off with flat-rate monthly dial-up. |
